Classic Polish Pierogi with Potato & Cheese
There’s nothing more comforting than a plate of homemade Polish pierogi — soft, chewy dumplings filled with creamy potatoes and cheese.
This recipe has been passed down through generations of our Lithuanian-Polish family, and we’re proud to share it so you can bring a taste of Europe to your table.

- 1 egg
- ½ cup warm water
- 1 pound potatoes (peeled and boiled)
- 1 cup farmer’s cheese (or ricotta)

- Prepare the filling: Mash the potatoes and cheese together, season with salt and pepper.
- Shape the pierogi: Roll the dough thin, cut into circles, add a spoonful of filling, and seal the edges.
- Cook: Boil pierogi in salted water until they float (about 2–3 minutes).
- Finish: Drain and serve with sautéed butter and onions.
